Seriti is a new organisation that has been formed out of two independent organizations, Eventually Africa and Intselelo to focus on strengthening community organisations for social and local economic development. Seriti is one of two agencies implementing the Community Works Programme (CWP) on behalf of the Trade and Industrial Policy (TIPS).

Seriti has pioneered the approach of the Community Works Programme and has invested an inordinate amount of time, energy and passion in ensuring the programme works, despite significant challenges brought about through the delays in funds being released for the programme.

The serious delays have meant that Seriti has focused attention on delivering outputs while under serious financial pressure. Furthermore, it has been unable to attend to the development of appropriate systems and business processes to advance its own organisational development and efficiency.

Shisaka Development Management Services has implemented the beneficiary and project management system on behalf of the Expanded Public Works Programme infrastructure projects since 2007 and therefore has a comprehensive understanding of the reporting requirements and obligations of the Community Works Programme.

The Assignment

Shisaka Development Management Services is contracted to provide support to the Seriti Institute in the following areas:

  • Reporting compliance by diagnosing problems in the current reporting process, and generating standard reports required by the Community Works Programme
  • Strategic support in clarifying the strategic framework for the organisation and resolving institutional and organisational arrangements
  • Financial and audit support
  • Organisational Development and Human Resources support
